Reflection for the poem"Moonbeams"

This poem reminds me of a person who feels hopeless and someone who does not have dreams. It has a sad tone and this is evident in the lines that say "Slowly sinking into the murky waters of what once was, and will never be what shined like gold wihtout light is lost." After reading this poem, I thought that if you do not have a dream, then there is no light in your life. If you are always thinking about the past, there will be no improvement and you will always be depressed. Therefore, I think everyone should have some kind of a dream of their own.

Interesting poem. What do you think caused the change--- from light to dark? From moonbeams to stillness?
